Job summary

Appian is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Shift 1 in McLean, VA to triage and resolve alerts on our cloud platform. You will work 5pm–2am or 1am–10am EST, following runbooks while applying technical skills to complex issues.

You will troubleshoot with engineers, provide customer support, improve monitoring, and diagnose root causes to boost reliability and efficiency. Join a team delivering scalable, reliable cloud services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
Experience in a procedural environment following runbooks and processes.
Comfortable with the Linux command line.
Strong communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, elevate, and resolve complex system and customer issues.
Provide direct technical support to customers as needed.
Proactively improve system health by identifying alert trends and enhancing monitoring.
Diagnose root causes and solve complex technical problems through hands-on troubleshooting.
