Job summary
Appian is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Shift 1 to join our cloud operations team. You will be the first responder for alerts, triaging and resolving issues on our global platform, with a focus on reliability and uptime.
Night shift hours are 5pm EST to 2am EST or 1am EST to 10am EST. You will collaborate with engineers, provide direct technical support, and contribute to monitoring improvements and automation to boost performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
- Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Foundational knowledge of networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience in a procedural environment (Helpdesk/1st Line Support) following runbooks.
- Comfortable with the Linux command line.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve issues.
- Provide direct technical support to customers as needed.
- Proactively improve system health by identifying alert trends and enhancing monitoring.
- Diagnose root causes and solve complex problems through hands-on troubleshooting.
