Job summary

Peraton in Chantilly, VA seeks a Cloud Reliability Engineer to support a DoD customer, ensuring the availability, performance, monitoring and incident response for the cloud infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.

The role is hands-on and requires system and network support, collaboration with engineering teams, and experience with monitoring tools, Jira Service Desk and root-cause analysis. On-site shifts are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with Linux operating systems (RHEL 8.x or higher).
• 3+ years of experience in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, OpenStack, or similar).
• 2+ years of experience with containerization and automation (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Nessus, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work a 24x7 shift on site in Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 24x7 uptime of multi-service, multi-layer cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on system and network support; troubleshooting and escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to reduce architecture complexity.
• Use Jira Service Desk to track issues through resolution.
• Configure and use monitoring tools for troubleshooting and remediation.
• Conduct incident response and root cause analysis.
• Document procedures using Confluence and follow SOPs.
• Shift work on-site to cover 24x7 monitoring.
