Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Progressive Care Unit in Chicago, IL. This full-time role (36 hrs/week) includes night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays, with travel to other inpatient units as needed.

The coordinator will lead nursing staff, coordinate admissions/transfers, perform rounds, and optimize bed management. A BSN is preferred; IL RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Two years' experience as a Staff Nurse.
• Clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational skills.
• Specialty Board Certification within 2 years of promotion.
• Current Illinois RN license; certification in area of expertise preferred.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate unit functioning; act as a resource to staff and physicians.
• Coordinate, delegate, communicate and think critically on clinical issues.
• Collaborate to plan timely admissions and transfers.
• Makes rounds and monitors patient condition changes.
• Assist bed control and discharges with physicians when needed.
• Participate in Nursing DIG Committee to improve throughput.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and unit assignments.
• Delegate tasks to RNs, CNAs and unit staff; provide feedback.
• Orient agency staff and participate in code/rapid response teams.
