Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the Nursing Float Pool at RWJ Somerset in Somerville, NJ. The position is night shift and per diem, supporting Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care.

You will assist with vital signs, daily activities, and patient comfort while documenting in the EHR and following infection control protocols. A CNA background or nursing program experience is preferred, with a High School Diploma and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED and current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and nursing care including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, bedside care, bathing and skin care.
• Monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature) and track patient health status.
• Document patient information accurately in EHR while maintaining confidentiality.
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans.
• Support BLS skills such as CPR in acute situations.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients and ensure safe outcomes.
• Coordinate patient care from admission to discharge with nursing colleagues.
