Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Full-Time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and assist with daily activities such as meals, walking and hygiene. The role supports the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes promptly in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will ensure patient safety using gait belts and alarms, while maintaining cleanliness and comfort. Development opportunities and an award-winning benefits package accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must show compassion and bedside manner in daily care.
• Strong interpersonal communication with patients, families and RNs.
• Ability to obtain and interpret basic vital signs accurately.
• Maintain patient safety and privacy in all tasks.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Assist with meals, drinking, and meal ordering for patients.
• Help patients with walking, bathing, linen changes and clothing changes.
• Provide clean linens and gowns, and maintain patient comfort.
• Support nurses with routine bedside tasks and safety checks.
