Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. The role involves providing direct nursing care on a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule, Saturdays and Sundays, at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The unit handles patients recovering from structural cardiac procedures and high-risk cardiac conditions with telemetry and skilled nursing support. The ideal candidate will hold a nursing diploma, Alabama RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certifications,

Qualifications

• BLS Provider or equivalent required within 1 month of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed by Alabama Board of Nursing before hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school and current licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; document patient condition.
• Coordinate care across disciplines for well-coordinated treatment.
• Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
