Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a registered nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. The role entails providing direct nursing care during night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Sat/Sun) at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The unit cares for patients post-structural cardiac procedures and high‑risk cardiac conditions with telemetry and skilled nursing interventions. Applicants should hold an Alabama RN license and BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire.
• Active Alabama RN license required prior to hire date.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Discharge planning in coordination with the healthcare team.
