New Oakland Family Centers is seeking a Youth and Family Care Connection Behavioral Health Technician for our 24/7 crisis stabilization unit. This full-time role focuses on overseeing clinical and administrative tasks, collaborating with staff, and delivering compassionate care to children and families.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s or pre-bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling preferred.
• 1–2 years of crisis work experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work well with diverse populations, including children.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsabilités

• Foster a safe, nurturing environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Perform safety checks and monitor consumers, document findings.
• Monitor safety concerns and communicate issues promptly to staff.
• Engage with clients daily to support milieu goals and daily living activities.
• Respond to aggressive behaviors using de-escalation techniques; CPI and CPR as required.
• Supervise meals and snacks and join clients during meals to promote engagement.
• Complete documentation and rotation schedules per policies.
