Job Description Summary

The Night Auditor (NA) is responsible for accurately balancing all hotel income and expenses for every 24-hour hotel operating period. The NA also acts as a Guest Service Agent for the overnight front desk shift. The NA is responsible for delivering results that contribute to the hotel's success by managing front desk operations. The NA will act as the hotel system liaison during night hours, handling system issues with Opera, SynXis, or other support systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions according to the G.U.E.S.T. standards.
2. Balance and audit revenue from rooms, food and beverage, and telephone services; prepare relevant reports.
3. Ensure accuracy of all financial charges and accounts.
4. Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports with supporting documentation.
5. Assist in setting up breakfast service and hotel laundry operations.
6. Serve as security contact during shifts.
7. Communicate with management to resolve discrepancies and request information.
8. Register guests, issue keys, and provide hotel information and services.
9. Process transactions accurately, including posting charges and preparing deposits.
10. Book reservations, handle cancellations, and upsell rooms to maximize revenue.
11. Follow reservation strategies and promote teamwork.
12. Serve the hotel shoppe and pour, ensuring compliance with laws on alcohol sales.
13. Fulfill guest requests and ensure delivery of services.
14. Manage guest safe-deposit boxes and comply with health and safety laws.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. One year of hotel experience preferred.
3. Experience in extended stay industry preferred.
4. Strong communication, math, and problem-solving skills.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
6. Valid driver’s license.
7. Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
8. Obtain ServSafe and possibly TIPS certifications.
