Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Night Auditor to ensure the hotel's financial and operational integrity during overnight hours. You will reconcile daily transactions, audit guest accounts, and prepare reports for management, while serving as the night-time guest contact.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with hotel PMS or similar software.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and independently with minimal supervision.
• Associate’s degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or related field (preferred).
• Proficiency with advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel (preferred).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills (preferred).
• Familiarity with hotel safety and security procedures (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile daily revenue reports and prepare detailed audit reports for management review.
• Manage front desk operations during the overnight shift, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest inquiries or concerns.
• Monitor security and safety protocols throughout the property during the night shift and report any irregularities.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless communication across shifts.
