Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing and organizing management reports, and ensuring guest billings and city ledger transactions are accurate. The role also involves communicating issues to management and performing guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities

1. Understand and work with financial information and data, including basic arithmetic.
2. Cross-train in other hotel-related or accounting areas.
3. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
4. Perform guest services, including check-in/out and reservations.
5. Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
6. Prepare and distribute daily reports like the Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports, etc.
7. Prepare and distribute month-end reports.
8. Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work.
9. Manage credit card transactions timely and accurately.
10. Ensure accuracy of all reported data and statistics.
11. Input and update financial data into corporate systems.
12. Perform regular data processing functions.
13. Report unusual operational or financial events to management.
14. Maintain guest satisfaction.
15. Respond to governmental inquiries and guest requests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; one year of hotel or related experience preferred.
• Guest service experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer skills required.
• Flexibility to work late/overnight shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
