Job description

This position is responsible for balancing and closing the previous business day and completing daily financial reports. It manages person-in-charge duties during the overnight shift, demonstrating sound judgment in independent decision-making and ensuring security protocols are followed. The role includes assisting guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, adhering to CSM high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  1. Performs the manager-on-duty role during the 3rd shift.
  2. Anticipates and responds to guests' needs positively and professionally.
  3. Provides the highest level of service, including processing check-ins and check-outs, verifying billing, creating reservations, and handling special requests.
  4. Possesses knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hotel outlet hours to assist guests effectively.
  5. Works independently or in a team to meet guest needs and supports other departments when necessary.
  6. Follows the CSM guest service recovery program.
  7. Accurately balances revenue sources and completes daily financial reports, including processing no-show reservations and preparing reports for management review.
  8. Closes the financial day for the hotel.
  9. Utilizes proper selling techniques to maximize room revenues and monitors room availability, restrictions, and booking policies.
  10. Drives sales through up-selling rooms and amenities.
  11. Handles cash and financial transactions according to CSM procedures.
  12. Uses equipment properly, adheres to cost controls, and reduces waste.
  13. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work to meet volume targets.
  14. Completes additional projects, stocks supplies, and assists other overnight staff as needed.
  15. Follows work rules and department procedures, attends required meetings, and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with regulations.
  16. Adheres to procedures for guest and staff incidents and is knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of guest service experience, preferably in hospitality; prior night audit or accounting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills and communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail, customer-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds occasionally.
