RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as overnight GSR from 11:00pm until 7:00am, ensuring efficient and courteous registration and guest services while providing the highest level of guest satisfaction. Ensures the accuracy of all guest accounts. Compiles and organizes daily accounting vouchers and GSR office work for the Accounting Department. Prints and maintains guest reports and accounting reports. Anticipates and resolves guest needs and concerns throughout the night.
Duties
- Provide and maintain standards of excellence in quality and service as established in hotel SOPs, Vision, Mission, Core Values, Service Standards, and Promises.
- Handle proper registration and check-out procedures for all guests in accordance with accounting procedures.
- Respond timely and friendly to all guest questions and inquiries.
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy through suggestive selling and yield management techniques.
- Review daily reservations for special requests, comments, or instructions and handle appropriately.
- Maintain knowledge of current rates, packages, and promotions and administer accordingly.
- Acquire working knowledge of guest rooms, in-house facilities, and local information.
- Promote all in-house facilities.
- Comply with procedures governing the use and handling of assigned cash banks.
- Post charges to appropriate folios, including processing adjustments, corrections, transfers, and credit entries.
- Maintain cash bank and record daily cash transactions to submit balanced deposits and worksheets.
- Handle reports and paperwork accurately, complying with all requirements regarding cash and check handling, posting transactions, credit cards, deposits, adjustments, and shift balancing.
- Adhere to key control procedures for all guest rooms.
- Use guest safe deposit boxes properly and issue safes upon request to ensure valuables' safekeeping.
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and process all daily amenity requests.
- Process guest mail, messages, and packages.
- Verify housekeeper’s report of room status immediately after receiving it.
- Keep superiors informed of all significant problems or unusual matters for prompt action.
- Communicate effectively with following shifts, housekeeping, PBX, engineering, and accounting.
- Attend all relevant meetings.
- Follow all fire, safety, and security procedures.
- Comply with all hotel policies and SOPs.
- Maintain awareness of room availability.
- Process check-in/out and room change information accurately.
- Verify guest information accuracy (Bucket Check).
- Support and participate in hotel policies and programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including handling Gift Shop purchases and PBX coverage.
Note: The hotel operates 24/7, including holidays. Work hours may vary, and staff may be asked to work in other departments. Management may modify duties at any time.
Qualifications include a pleasant, clear speaking voice, professional communication skills, physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds, basic math skills, and good English language skills. Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in guest service, front office, and cash handling preferred.
