Job summary

Olympia Hospitality at Hyatt Chicago South/University Medical Center is seeking a Night Auditor for an overnight shift (10pm-6am or 11pm-7am). Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. You will assist guests, handle reservations, and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

The role requires basic arithmetic, willingness to cross-train, and familiarity with hotel systems. We offer health coverage, retirement plans, PTO, holidays, and more to support your wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must understand financial information and basic arithmetic.
• Willing to cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
• Hospitality experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with hotel systems and Excel welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Handle guest check-ins and check-outs and take reservations.
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
• Prepare daily and monthly operating and tax reports.
• Reconcile and transmit credit card transactions promptly.
• Communicate with team to keep management informed of issues.

The Night Auditor maximizes revenue and creates value by providing excellent customer service. This includes effective reservation sales, handling all guest accounts efficiently and accurately, and assisting in all phases of guest experience such as check-in, check-out, and problem resolution.

This is an overnight shift with hours ranging from 10pm-6am or 11pm-7am. Starting pay $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
• Must be willing to cross train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
• Perform guest services functions as required (i.e. check guests in/out, take reservations, we-up calls, etc.).
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
• Prepare and distribute necessary daily reports as required (i.e., Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports, etc.) according to hotel standards.
• Prepare and distribute month-end reports.
• Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit cards on a timely basis.
• Prioritize job functions in order to meet deadlines.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual data processing system functions as required.Keep management abreast of any unusual operational or financial events and/or deviations of policies or procedures.
• Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt.

Skills Required

• Provide high level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure, proficiency in keyboarding and computer technology, i.e. e-mail, MS Word, Excel, & other hotel related systems, aptitude with numbers/data analysis.

Experience / Education

• Knowledge/experience of accounting principles; prior customer service/hospitality experience is preferred; high school diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
