JOB DESCRIPTION

1. JOB TITLE: Night Auditor

2. DEPARTMENT: Front Desk

3. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Posts, compiles, and verifies the correctness of all of the Hotel’s accounts on a nightly basis.

4. EMPLOYEE MANUAL: All employees must fully understand the requirements of their job, including the rules and regulations outlined in the Employee Manual, prior to being assigned to the position.

5. ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Post room and tax accurately, verifying postings to the Housekeeper’s and Rooms Revenue Report.
• Balance all income within proper areas.
• Prepare the Daily Sales and Revenue Report.
• Perform all activities of a Front Desk Clerk.
• Follow Night Auditor’s Checklist completely.
• Set up Continental Breakfast presentation.
• Transmit nightly figures to Wilson Hospitality and fax Daily Sales and Revenue Report.
• Complete required reports correctly and assemble audit bag.
• Close out day on register.
• Check and change ribbons, paper, etc., as needed.
• Vacuum lobby area before morning.
• Transport ice to lobby for breakfast setup and handle last-minute breakfast orders.
• Open lobby doors at assigned time.

6. REPORTS TO: Front Desk Manager

7. SAFETY STATEMENT: Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards or violations encountered during their duties.

8. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements include:

• High School education (Grade 12)
• At least 3 months of Front Desk experience
• Proficiency in English (spoken, reading, writing)
• Skills in using calculator, PBX, front desk computer, copier, and fax

Physical requirements include frequent standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), and bending. Work conditions involve working alone or with others, with responsibilities including equipment care, guest contact, handling confidential data, decision-making, and supervisory acts. Sensory requirements are full sight and hearing.
