Job summary

The OLD EDWARDS HOSPITALITY GROUP LLC is seeking a Night Auditor to oversee overnight hotel operations in Highlands, NC. You will verify guest accounts, balance charges, and assist with guest services, including check-ins and check-outs.

Responsibilities

• Audit and balance front desk systems.
• Post room charges and ensure proper cash handling.
• Write and drop deposits; prepare and input daily statistics and income journal sheets.
• Handle check-ins, check-outs and property orientations.
• Address billing inquiries and guest issues using PRL/GPR systems.
• Complete opening/closing checklists and relay information to next shift.
• Develop knowledge of events, hours and transportation for Highlands.
• Assist guests with recommendations and reservations.

Job description

Night Audit is responsible for the overnight operations of the Hotel, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues and assisting with all aspects of guest services.ResponsibilitiesAudit and balance front desk systemsPost room chargesEnsure proper cash handlingWrite and drop depositsPrepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reportsPerform check-ins, property orientations, check-outsAddress billing inquiries and manipulationReceive and handle guest complaints using the PRL (prompt response log) and GPR (guest problem resolution) systemsComplete appropriate opening and closing checklistsReceive and relay pertinent information from previous night to following shiftsConsistently analyze guest information and proactively ensure accuracy of billingLearn and understand information about events on property, hours of operation for each Old Edwards property, and transportation schedulesBe familiar and knowledgeable with the town of Highlands and being able to assist guests with recommendations, general knowledge and reservationsDue to the nature of this position, confidentiality is required at all times.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the front office managerPrior work experience as a night audit or front desk agent preferred. College degree in a hospitality related field preferred but not required. Additional related certifications preferred but not required.Hands-on experience with office machines (computers, fax, printers, etc.), thorough knowledge of customer service, multitasking, organizational and problem-solving skills, valid driver’s license and clean driving recordCommand of the English language (oral and written), second language helpful, customer service and problem resolution orientedBasic knowledge of computer use required, knowledge of Microsoft Office use required, SMS host experience helpfulMust have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must have ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
