The Night Auditor is responsible for nightly balancing hotel charges and expenses for the hotel operation, as well as showing sensitivity and responding to all guests' needs safely and promptly to ensure complete satisfaction. Front desk position is a front-line position, where you will greet the guest and get them checked in.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Greets guests and checks them into the hotel following established procedures, including but not limited to ensuring all necessary information is received and entered into the computerProvides superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times and follows the company’s etiquette guidelines as mandated in the employee handbookAudits and balances room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier reports, guest and house accounts, telephone revenue and online reservationsCompletes and transmits daily management/accounting reports and support documentation; transmittal of credit card batchesActs as hotel system/operation and emergency liaison during night hours and performs all guest service functionsRuns various computer reports at the beginning and end of each shiftTakes payments, posts charges, enters amounts into computer, and balances accounts at the end of each shiftAnswers a variety of questions from guests, and handles routine problems - referring more unusual or difficult problems or complaints to supervisor or other appropriate staff membersMaintains knowledge of daily activities in and around the hotel/ resort areaHandles emergencies that arise when on duty alone, notifying appropriate personnelAssists in general maintenance and inventory of Front Office equipment and suppliesPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS:Commitment to excellence and high standardsBasic typing skills with computer data entry experienceBasic reading, spelling, and math skillsAbility to converse clearly and comfortably with many different types of peopleAbility to deal courteously and efficiently with customers and other personnelAbility to learn a variety of information about the company’s lodging and recreational facilities, as well as general information about the areaExcellent customer service skillsAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsProfessional appearance and demeanorBilingual skills a plusEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequires a minimum of one year of hotel audit experienceCOMPETENCIES:Quality-Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.Quantity-Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.Safety and Security-Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Attendance/Punctuality-Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.Dependability-Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Continually required to stand, walk, bend, and reachContinually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity to operate a keyboard and office equipmentOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 lbs.SALARY: $20.50 - $21HOURS: 11PM - 7AM / 3 PM to 11PMBENEFITS:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceVoluntary Short-Term and Long-Term DisabilityCompany paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance401(k) with Company matchPaid Time Off and State required sick pay8 Paid HolidaysHotel discounts by brandEmployee shift meal
