Job summary

Generation Hospitality is seeking a Night Audit for our frontline team in Billings, MT. This hourly, full-time overnight role oversees front desk operations, ensures daily financial accuracy, and closes the day’s books while providing exceptional guest service during late hours.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with financial data and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment for guest issues at night.
  • Availability to work overnight hours on a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliability and punctuality with end-of-day closing processes.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the property.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations, reservations procedures, and cash-handling best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality, business, or accounting training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audit of front desk transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile and balance daily revenue from all outlets per company policies.
  • Close the business day in the PMS and generate daily reports for accounting and management.
  • Verify and post room rates, discounts, and packages; resolve discrepancies with other departments.
  • Process and review credit card, cash, and direct-bill transactions with proper documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute daily revenue and occupancy reports and explain variances.
  • Handle overnight guest check-ins and check-outs, including reservations and payments.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with a high service standard.
  • Monitor overnight security and follow emergency procedures when needed.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for night service requests and status updates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk and lobby area; perform light housekeeping as needed.
  • Follow policies on cash handling, data privacy, and guest confidentiality.
  • Assist with reservations, modifications, cancellations, and special requests during the night shift.
  • Conduct end-of-shift procedures and handover notes to incoming staff.
  • Support other departments during overnight hours while maintaining front desk focus.

The Night Audit role in our Front Desk department is an hourly, full-time position responsible for overseeing the hotel’s front office operations during overnight hours. This position ensures the accuracy of daily financial transactions, balances and closes the day’s accounts, and prepares detailed reports for management. What You'll Do

  • Close the business day in the property management system (PMS) and generate daily reports for accounting and management review.
  • Verify, correct, and post room rates, discounts, and special packages, resolving discrepancies in coordination with appropriate departments.
