Job summary

nVent is seeking builders for its Eleanor, West Virginia facility who will install building components such as HVAC systems, windows and doors while reading blueprints and BOMs for accurate assembly. You will safely operate forklifts and cranes, move materials, and document processes in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The role requires standing, lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, and working in varying temperatures with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or preferred
  • Background in construction or related field
  • Experience with assembly and installation tasks
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and handling construction tools
  • Ability to meet physical and environmental demands (lifting, standing for long periods)

Responsibilities

As a Builder at our Eleanor, West Virginia facility, you will be responsible for constructing and installing key building components, including HVAC systems, windows, and doors, while accurately interpreting blueprints and bills of materials to ensure quality execution.

We are hiring for our Night and Weekend shifts Night | M-TH: 4:30 pm – 2:30 am Weekend | F-Sun: 5 am – 5 pm

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Install building components including HVAC systems, windows, doors, and other structural elements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and bills of materials to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
  • Complete required documentation and verify all materials and components are properly prepared for shipment.
  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and man lifts.
  • Load, unload, and move building materials while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, production schedules, and project requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the building process.
YOU HAVE:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • A proven background in construction or related field
  • Experience with assembly and installation tasks
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and handling construction tools
  • The ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the job, including working in various weather conditions, lifting, pulling, and moving heavy material, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.
  • Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.
  • This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.
  • Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing setting that may not be climate-controlled and can include exposure to varying temperatures.
