Job summary

UVA Health Outpatient Retail Pharmacy is seeking a night shift Ambulatory Pharmacist who brings strong clinical judgment, independence, and patient-centered decision-making to an overnight ambulatory role at the Education Resource Center.

As the overnight pharmacist, you will support emergency department and discharged patients, employees, and community members while serving as a primary clinical decision-maker during overnight operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Virginia licensure or eligible within 60 days of hire.
• PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently review medication orders for safety, appropriateness, and clinical accuracy.
• Provide real-time overnight clinical decisions with accountability.
• Support emergency department patients, discharged patients, employees, and community patients as needed.
• Communicate directly with providers to resolve medication-related questions or concerns.
• Support safe patient discharge processes through timely medication review and issue resolution.
• Provide medication counseling and patient education when needed.
