Qualifications

• Recent graduates may fill this role while awaiting licensure, within board-imposed limits.

Responsibilities

• Receives, interprets, and reviews prescriptions with patient history for accuracy and safety.
• Provides data-driven drug therapy recommendations and clinical interventions.
• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Ensures formulary compliance and cost-effective substitutions.
• Documents required notes in patient records and other systems.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmacotherapy and safety.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises technicians and students on the night shift.
• Adheres to policies and regulations.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement.
• Precepts students and new staff when required.
