Job summary

The role includes registering and scheduling patients in Admitting, Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Central Access OR, plus handling interdepartmental payments securely and accurately.

The position supports patient flow, pre-certifications, and coordination with insurance and physicians, with a night shift in a part-time capacity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, or 5 years of healthcare clerical experience in lieu of diploma.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Register, schedule and verify accounts in hospital registration system following procedures and regulations.
• Document communications with patients, families, insurers and physicians in the system.
• Obtain pre-certifications and coordinate with insurance companies for procedures.
• Process payments (cash, checks, credit cards) and balance cash drawer per policy.
• Assist in ED coverage and support patient movement and admission processes.
