Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND seeks an experienced NICU registered nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill and premature neonates, including ventilation and complex medication management.

You will collaborate with neonatologists, perinatologists, respiratory therapists, and families to coordinate holistic, developmental care and educate caregivers while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.
• 2-3 years NICU nursing experience.
• Active RN license in good standing with the North Dakota Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• BLS certification required within the orientation period.
• Good communication skills for interaction with patients, families and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing assessments and continuous monitoring for critically ill neonates, including ventilation and complex regimens.
• Implement and manage individualized NICU care plans for various neonatal conditions.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, therapists, and specialists to coordinate holistic care.
• Educate and support families, teaching infant care and medical equipment use.
• Respond rapidly to neonatal emergencies with decisive intervention.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and meticulous documentation.
