Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join a Level II NICU team. You will provide direct clinical care to high-risk infants, perform histories and exams, order tests, and participate in rounds with physicians, nurses and families.

You will educate families on disease, treatments and medications while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and clinical excellence in a busy inpatient setting, with shifts

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from accredited program.
• Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required.
• Active or Eligible to obtain an unrestricted licence in Nebraska.
• BLS, PALS and NRP.
• Commitment to providing high quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting.
• Take medical histories and perform complete physical examinations.
• Initiate labs, radiology tests and other evaluations as credentialed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications and participate in rounds.
• Educate families about disease, treatments, side effects and hazards.
• Refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other staff as part of the care team.

Education
