Job summary

Penn State Health - Lancaster Medical Center is launching a new Level II NICU as part of its Family Birthing Suite expansion. We seek experienced NICU RNs to join the founding team, caring for newborns born at 32 weeks or later and collaborating with Golisano Children’s Hospital neonatology.

Training across Penn State Health NICUs begins in June 2026, with orientation in summer and a Lancaster start. Travel for orientation and training is reimbursed; this is a PRN, part-time role beginning

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
  • One (1) year of RN experience in a NICU setting
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required prior to the end of the orientation period

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health problems and needs; develop and implement nursing care plans and maintain medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients and monitor for reactions and side effects.
  • Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention; monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions.
