Job summary

IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking an energetic RN Educator for the NICU to provide hands-on, bedside education and professional development for neonatal nurses. This role partners with staff in real-time practice, focusing on clinical excellence and patient safety.

The RN Educator will coach, mentor, and design targeted learning plans, developing staff through evidence-based education and ongoing competency validation while contributing to onboarding and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• NICU clinical experience 3–5 years required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license required.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational program management required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide unit-based, bedside education and support to NICU nurses.
• Coach and develop nurses through real-time clinical guidance and evidence-based practice.
• Assess learning needs and partner with leadership to create targeted development plans.
• Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs using adult learning strategies.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, clinical excellence, accountability, and growth.
• Support onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing staff development.
• Facilitate experiences that improve clinical judgment, patient safety, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and leaders to identify opportunities and implement best practices.
• Serve as a clinical resource for integrating new evidence and workflows.
• Monitor educational outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
