Job summary

Montage Health in Monterey, CA is seeking a Staff RN in the NICU to plan, direct, assess and provide nursing care according to hospital policies. The Staff RN will care for well-baby and NICU patients, attend deliveries, initiate resuscitation when needed, and stabilize for transfer to higher levels of care.

Requirements include at least 2 years in acute NICU, a California RN license, BLS and NRP; STABLE is required for hires after 1 April 2025; PALS/ENPC are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of acute care experience in a NICU or level II+ nursery.
• Knowledge of well newborn care and maternal postpartum care.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Must pass orientation and annual competencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, assess and provide nursing care per hospital policies.
• Provide prescribed medication and assist physicians during treatment.
• Float to IICN and FBC units to care for newborns and assist transfers.
• Orient new staff and precept students.
• Maintain Baby Friendly initiative standards.
