Responsibilities
- Provide critical NICU nursing care to neonates, including assessments and monitoring.
- Monitor patient vitals, chart progress, and respond to changes with rapid interventions.
- Identify and elevate high-risk cases to physicians in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to NICU protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
- Document all clinical findings accurately in electronic health records.
- Utilize data and pipelines to track performance metrics and outcomes.
- Educate families on infant care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in shift handovers ensuring clear communication of patient status.
- Demonstrate continuous learning through certifications and on-the-job training.
- Mentor junior staff and support a collaborative, high-visibility work environment.
Experience/Qualifications
- Active RN license with current NICU or critical care certification.
- Experience in NICU neonate assessment and rapid intervention protocols.
- Proficiency in monitoring vitals, charting, and EHR documentation.
- Ability to expedite high-risk cases promptly to physicians.
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives and data-driven care.
- Commitment to continuous learning, certifications, and on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of NICU infection control and patient safety standards.
- Experience with multidisciplinary care planning and care transitions.
- Strong communication during shift handovers and family education skills.
- Mentorship ability for junior staff and fostering a collaborative environment.
