Job summary

Prime Healthcare at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA seeks a Registered Nurse for the NICU, delivering safe patient care from neonate stabilization through discharge.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS and NRP certificates, 1 year of acute care or NICU experience, and BSN preferred; the position is full-time, night shift from 7pm to 7am with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate on hire.
• NRP (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire.
• One year experience in an acute care setting with NICU exposure.
• BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care for neonates within NICU scope and provide teaching to patient/family and nursing staff.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and treatment responses.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Coordinate care using the chain of command to ensure appropriate neonatal care.
• Support neonatal care from delivery through discharge.

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to neonates from post delivery stabilization through discharge.
• NICU- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
