Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver direct patient care across respiratory therapies in a hospital setting. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Required are a CoArc-approved program, NBRC RRT credential, and state licensure; PALS may be required in ER. The role includes physical demands and opportunities for growth within Mercy’s care teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license meeting state requirements.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS certification if assigned to ER coworkers.
• Physical demands include lifting and mobility tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.

Position Details

QualificationsEducation: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.Experience: None.Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
