Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver patient-focused respiratory care in accordance with physician orders, from admission to discharge.

Qualified candidates hold a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program, an active RCP license, and the NBRC RRT credential. PALS is required for ER staff; ACLS is preferred. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license per state requirements.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS required for ER coworkers; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consults with physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serves as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.Experience: None.Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
