Qualifications

• Completed at least the first semester of an accredited nursing program.
• Completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A CMA/MA/CNA/EMT/PCT certification may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to promote health and wellness.
• Collaborate with the care team to achieve expected outcomes.
• Communicate pertinent data to staff in a timely manner.
• Promote infection prevention through standard precautions and hand hygiene.
• Assist with activities of daily living and document changes in patient status.
• Demonstrate caring relationships and respect per Jean Watson’s theory.
• Mentor new PCTs to ensure successful enculturation and competence.
