Qualifications

  • HSD/GED is required.
  • PCA training or PCA experience or enrollment in a health care program is required.
  • 1–2 years STNA hospital experience preferred.
  • CPR is preferred at hire but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-trains to support clinical and clerical functions.

Job Details:
  • Responsible for assisting the nurse in completion of patient care activities, taking into consideration the patient’s developmental levels.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated.
  • Appropriately handles patient information understanding confidentiality and privacy.
  • Complies with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Is knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital.
  • The PCA promotes a patient and family experience oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external.
  • The PCA measures and records vital signs, intake and output, assists patients with activities of daily living, and provides safe transportation and environment for patients.
  • The PCA is cross trained to support the clinical and clerical sides of the business.
Department Specific Job Details:
  • Education: HSD/GED is required
  • Experience: PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required
  • 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred
  • Certification/Licensure: CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date
