Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a casual occupational therapist to join the NICU OT team across Fairview’s Minneapolis and metro hospitals. The role focuses on safe, evidence-based care from evaluation to discharge, working with patients and families to achieve meaningful outcomes.

The position offers weekend shifts once per month with additional opportunities. The team emphasizes mentorship, clinical specialization, and participation in a broad rehab program with continuing education

Qualifications

• MN OT license or temporary MN license is required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) is required.
• M.A./M.S. in Occupational Therapy is preferred.
• 1+ years of OT experience, preferably in pediatrics or NICU.
• Experience with infant feeding is a plus.
• Certification with NBCOT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with patient and family during evaluation and re-evaluation.
• Gather pertinent data for clinical decision making.
• Perform examinations and determine treatment diagnoses.
• Develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with patient and family.
• Analyze data to identify needs and risks and prognosis for recovery.
• Establish goals with patient and/or caregiver and adjust plan as needed.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively.
• Establish discharge planning and provide patient education.
• Complete timely documentation and billing in accordance with department standards.
• Pursue clinical development and participate in mentorship and specialty programs.
