Job summary

Banner Health’s NICU at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking an RN for the Level II Special Care Nursery with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The unit has 16 beds with plans to expand to level IIIA. Expect to care for infants 32 weeks and above, with opportunities to float to labor and delivery as needed.

We offer a night differential and weekend shift differential. The position requires NICU experience and supports a dynamic, learning-focused team recognized for nursing

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license in state of practice; BLS certification required.
• Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired; New Graduate Nurse experience visit main job search page if applicable.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certification may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care including discharge planning with realistic, measurable goals.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust the plan of care and teaching as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record with timely, legible notes.
• Promote evidence-based nursing practice and participate in unit leadership and mentoring as appropriate.
• Communicate patient status and care plans clearly to all team members.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support ongoing professional development and participate in quality improvement activities.
