Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform procedures, interpret orders, assess needs, deliver therapy, and evaluate responses in Level II Nursery, NICU and CBU. You will assist with aerosol therapies, night CPAP/BIPAP, and respond to emergencies with the clinical team.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC RRT, and BLS/NRP within 90 days; ACLS and PALS within 12 months. NICU experience is preferred and a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; NICU experience preferred.
• RRT credential from NBRC required.
• BLS and NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care procedures per physician orders.
• Interpret orders, assess patient needs, deliver prescribed therapy.
• Evaluate patient response and adjust treatment as needed.
• Provide aerosol therapies and night CPAP/BIPAP; respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with the clinical team in NICU/Level II Nursery and CBU.
