Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care by providing basic physical care under supervision by the Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including making beds in a timely manner.
• Safely transport patients according to WVUH Safe Patient Handling Policy for tests, procedures, and discharge.
• Transport specimens and items throughout the facility.
• Perform routine phlebotomy and glucose monitoring as allowed by management.
• Record patients' temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, intake/output, and weights per policy.
• Provide respiratory support and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
