Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a NICU Neonatology Per Diem Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to provide patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital-based setting. The role emphasizes leadership, direct clinical practice, and ongoing professional development within a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates will have neonatal experience, NJ NP credentials, and a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient education, and ethical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited NP program.
• Proven clinical competency through ongoing clinical practice and continuing education.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for patient age and condition.
• Orders, performs, and interprets labs and diagnostics in collaboration with physicians.
• Manages general medical/surgical conditions based on pharmacology knowledge and evidence-based practice.
• Prescribes medications safely per NJ regulations and provides patient education.
• Promotes APN practice recognition through conferences, publications, and presentations.
• Delivers patient- and family-centered care and adheres to standards and protocols.
• Assists with adherence to scope of practice as defined by NJ regulations and hospital bylaws.
• Applies evidence-based medicine to improve patient outcomes.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and coordinates care transitions.
