Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to be the first point of contact for families and visitors, coordinating clerical and reception duties and supporting the postpartum team.

The role includes customer service, scheduling, nurse call system coordination, and maintaining patient records, with admission/discharge coordination under supervision. A high school diploma is required; health unit coordinator training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to patients, families, and the cross-functional team.
• Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
• Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
