Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Illinois required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire per AHA guidelines.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete continuing education related to acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patient transfers with safe body mechanics.
  • Treat patients across all ages and adjust plan of care based on response.
  • Design and implement care plans with goals, outcomes, and discharge planning.
  • Educate patient, family, and staff using effective teaching methods.
  • Evaluate clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes.
  • Document findings per CTSCP67 and regulatory standards.
  • Screen patients to determine therapy needs and adjust accordingly.
  • Supervise PTA and rehab techs where applicable.
