About the job
Psomagen Inc. is a leading multi-omics service provider specialized in NGS, Sanger, and single cell sequencing services to support life science research and industry in North America. The NGS clinical laboratory technologist will perform day-to-day NGS experiments, including sample preparation, library preparation, QC procedures, and various NGS instrument operations.

This position will be based in the Psomagen office in Rockville, Maryland (on-site).

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory systems, record data, and perform tests.
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, quantification, NGS library construction, qPCR, and operating sequencers.
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains following standard procedures.
• Oversee equipment performance and maintenance.
• Perform routine repairs or part replacements as needed.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels.
• Troubleshoot samples and results.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Adapt to new technologies to improve services.
• Train and mentor new staff.
• Write and update protocols in compliance with CLIA/CAP/ISO standards.

Qualifications & Preferences

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
• Minimum 1 year laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience in molecular biology, genetics/genomics, DNA/RNA manipulation, NGS library prep, QC, and sequencing preferred.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual in English/Korean is a plus.
