Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a highly skilled Geospatial Intelligence Analyst (Geospatial Specialist II) to join our team on site at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) headquarters in Springfield, Virginia.

The Geospatial Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the accuracy and consistency of geospatial data management, developing and maintaining data standards, and ensuring data is protected and compliant with agency regulations and standards. This role involves in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-Intelligence Community (IC) boundaries, focusing on geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) data.

The Geospatial Intelligence Analyst will review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft, industry and agency standards, and determine adequate support for conclusions. Analysts will routinely test and evaluate the rigor of analytic content and clearly articulate key findings.

Responsibilities
  • GEOINT analysis and data governance:
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency of GEOINT data
    • Develop and maintain data management standards, ensuring data is protected and compliant with office and agency regulations and standards
    • Evaluate and improve analytic operations and knowledge management operations across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulate key findings
    • Review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft, industry and agency standards
    • Routinely test accuracy and effectiveness of analytic content
  • Security and compliance oversight:
    • Ensure the application of appropriate security controls and conformance to policies, standards, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Data quality and usability improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate the current state of GEOINT analysis and data and implement methods to improve quality, usability, and availability
  • Advocacy and training:
    • Advocate for best practices in analysis and data management, providing training and support to stakeholders that fosters a culture of excellence
    • Work with customers and partners to qualify all metrics across analysis and data lifecycles
  • Performance improvement and solution development:
    • Identify analysis- and data-related performance improvements in the current architecture, services, workflows, and related capabilities
    • Document requirements, provide mission-focused justification, and develop or integrate solutions to enhance the baseline and deliver more effective operational support
  • Mission focused and mission critical requirements determination:
    • Conduct requirements determination to enable immediate and future analysis and data improvements necessary for effective operational support
  • Ad hoc technical tasks:
    • Conduct customer engagement, training, and support as needed
    • Coordinate with analysts, scientists, and working groups to ensure data and analysis initiatives meet mission objectives
    • Host, organize, and coordinate technical exchange meetings with customers, mission partners, analysts, and data providers to ensure alignment and collaboration
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience, including:
    • At least five (5) years in geospatial data management, data governance, or data stewardship roles
    • Proficiency in SQL and foundational understanding of database technologies
    • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data quality concepts
    • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and their impact on data management
    • Ability to analyze complex data landscapes, identify risks, and define mitigation strategies
    • Understanding of geospatial data metadata, standards, and implementation
  • Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities, including geodatabase technologies and web capabilities
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ESRI Model Builder and/or Python/ArcPy
  • GEOINT data and analysis experience
  • Experience working on site at NGA, preferably in complex organizational environments
  • Ability to train and support stakeholders on data management best practices
  • Strong analytical skills to identify performance improvements and develop solutions
  • Experience hosting stakeholder meetings
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in GIS and GEOINT data management
