Qualifications

• Compliance with state health and safety policies for coaches.

Responsibilities

• State Law compliance per policies linked by TSSAA.
• Maintain concussion certificate on file annually.
• Maintain Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate on file annually.
• Adhere to TSSAA/TMSAA health and safety policies.
• Ensure completion/copy of required NFHS courses when applicable.
• Keep NFHS Heat Illness Prevention certificate on file yearly.
• Complete NFHS COVID-19 course for coaches and administrators.

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
