Qualifications

• ASEP Coaches Education Course completed before May 15, 2013 exempts NFHS requirements.
• NEW NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course required annually.
• NEW NFHS COVID-19 Course required for all coaches.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completion and on-file maintenance of required NFHS courses (Fundamentals of Coaching; First Aid, Health, & Safety).
• Keep concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificates current; copies on file yearly.
• Adhere to TSSAA/TMSAA health and safety policies; monitor and enforce compliance where applicable.

Track and Field assistant coach position.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
