Prevailance, Inc. seeks a Subject Matter Expert to join a collaborative team evaluating the currency, accuracy, and relevance of Expeditionary Warfare, Construction, ATFP, and IW doctrine.

You will help develop and maintain doctrinal publications by participating in experiments, exercises, and evaluations to address performance gaps. The role requires extensive military or civil service experience, knowledge of Navy doctrine guidelines, and strong analytic abilities.

Qualifications

• Ten years of U.S. military or civil service experience in operations planning, technical analysis, or command and control operations.
• Strong ability to analyze doctrine and training materials for gaps and improvements.
• Familiarity with Navy/DoD docs and publication guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess operational gaps across DOTMLPF-P for Expeditionary Warfare and Force Protection.
• Evaluate data from DEV events, wargames, tabletop exercises, and field experiments to refine doctrine.
• Define force objectives, sub-objectives, and tasks.
• Set demonstration objectives, validation criteria, and critical questions.
• Create data collection plans and analysis reports.
• Support front-end analysis for doctrinal and non-doctrinal publications.
• Assist in drafting and revising doctrine with references and after-action reviews.

Position Overview

Prevailance is seeking a skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a collaborative team dedicated to analyzing and evaluating the currency, accuracy, and relevance of Expeditionary Warfare (EXW), Construction (CON), Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP), and Irregular Warfare (IW) doctrine and tactics. This role supports the development and maintenance of doctrinal publications by participating in experiments, exercises, and operational evaluations to identify and address performance gaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify operational and performance gaps across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF‑P) spectrum for Expeditionary Warfighting and Force Protection
• Evaluate data from Demonstrate, Evaluate, and Validate (DEV) events, wargames, tabletop exercises, and field experiments to inform and refine doctrinal publications
• Defining force objectives, sub‑objectives, and tasks
• Establishing demonstration objectives, validation criteria, and critical questions
• Creating data collection plans and analysis reports
• Support front‑end analysis for doctrinal and non‑doctrinal publications slated for development
• Assist in drafting and revising doctrine by providing references, observations, and after‑action reviews during the development process Requirements

Full‑time, Contract Virginia Beach, VA

Military/Navy Community Experience

• Minimum of ten (10) years of U.S. military or civil service experience in operations planning, technical analysis, or command and control operations

Familiarity with operational planning processes, training, and field exercise planning Knowledge and Skills

• In‑depth understanding of military organization, training, and operations, with the ability to conduct complex studies, analyze problems, and identify mission capability gaps

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required

Significant writing ability and relevant experience within the NECC Enterprise may offset the educational requirement

Clearance

• Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance
