Job summary

Prevailance, Inc. seeks an experienced, mission-focused professional to support Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center (NEXWDC) phase training, TOC operations, and planning processes.

The role includes classroom instruction, curriculum development, and facilitating exams and practical exercises. The selected candidate will contribute to evaluation of expeditionary staff performance, conduct training in EXW/IW/CON/ATFP contexts, and help design concepts for fleet exercises.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten years of US military active service.
  • Three years of experience in military training and education.
  • Familiarization with NECC type-unit warfare missions and capabilities.
  • Recent Navy training systems, processes and instruction.
  • Master Training Specialist qualification preferred.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Naval Construction, Navy Expeditionary Logistics, EOD/Coastal Riverine, Navy Expeditionary Intelligence, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for TOC setup and Navy Planning Process execution.
  • Deliver classroom instruction and develop curriculum; administer exams and practical exercises.
  • Develop training outlines, student handouts, and lesson plans.
  • Design, refine, and run training exercise scenarios for NECC units.
  • Assess mission area effectiveness and identify gaps; support training and readiness assessments.

Description

Status: This position is currently filled, however we are accepting applications for Ready Replacement Pool consideration.

Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to provide support for:

  • Execution of Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center (NEXWDC) phase training; including instruction to set up and operate an effective Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and in the Navy Planning Process for Battle Watch Captains, Staff Planners, Unit Leaders and Commanders;
  • Classroom instruction, administration of written exams, development and facilitation of practical exercises, and development of curriculum;
  • Navy Expeditionary Staffs performance evaluation in integrated/advanced training events; exercise development and planning in support of Fleet and training/assessment exercises;
  • Expeditionary Warfare (EXW), Irregular Warfare (IW), Construction (CON), and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) tactics analysis, review and standardization;
  • Navy Expeditionary concepts review and proof of concept in fleet exercises;
  • Mission area effectiveness assessments, and gap identification and analysis.

Provides various types of management and technical support to a wide range of projects including training and readiness assessments. MA/I’s are required to qualify and provide classroom instruction at NEXWDC or as part of a Mobile Training Team for the courses in the NEXWDC training continuum. These courses include but are not limited to Battle Watch Captain, Basic Expeditionary Staff Planner, Advanced Expeditionary Staff Planner, NECF Leadership, and Expeditionary Staff Training (EST) which combine portions of all 4 courses, that can be taken on the road to provide training for those forces forwarded deployed. MA/I’s

also administer written exams, develop and facilitate practical exercises, assist in development of curriculum and training outlines, student handouts, and lesson plans.

Additionally, MA/I’s support the design, development, refinement, and execution of training exercise scenarios to train and assess Commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) unit(s)’ ability to effectively execute its combat mission in a MCO environment. These modes of events and exercises include Navy Expeditionary Force (NEF) Force Development (FD) Limited Objective Experiment (LOE), NEF integrated/advanced exercise, and participation in (synthetic or live) various Fleet exercises. The end-state - To train and assess units on the Navy Planning Process and their ability to conduct Mission Analysis and COA Development, followed by detailed mission planning and execution, including the unit's ability to effectively command and control assigned forces.

Requirements
  • Requires a minimum of ten years US military active service which includes units of action and operational staff experience; and three years of experience in military training and education focused on senior enlisted personnel, junior officers and senior officers or equivalent
  • Shall have participated in deployment and/or employment of NECC type forces or equivalent type forces
  • Shall have familiarization with NECC type-unit warfare missions, functions and capabilities and NECC unit-type Navy Mission Essential Tasks
  • Recent (within the last five years) and relevant Navy training systems, processes and instruction
  • Thorough doctrinal and practical understanding of an Operations Center setup, tactics, techniques and procedures
  • General doctrinal and practical understanding of staff functions and command and control at the unit (battalion, aviation squadron, ship, etc.) and group (brigade, afloat squadron, regiment, etc.) level
  • General doctrinal and practical understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process, the Navy Planning Process, the Marine Corps Planning Process, and/or the Joint Operational Planning Process
  • Master Training Specialist qualification preferred
  • Experience in at least one or more of the following:

  • Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP)

Civilian Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
