Job summary

ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) seeks a Systems Engineer to join the NEXRAD - Systems Engineering team that supports the FAA. This is a full-time on-site position at the Radar Operations Center (ROC) in Norman, OK.

The team provides lifecycle management for the Weather Surveillance Radar 1988 Doppler (WSR-88D) and focuses on the RDA rack, RPG rack, and related communications infrastructure. Strong ABET-accredited degree and 6–9 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related IT field.
• 6–9 years of related work experience.
• Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Perform research and maintenance on weather systems hardware and software.
• Originate, write, test, update, and document projects supporting weather system software.
• Lead coordination, drafting, review, and editing of technical reports and drawings.
• Provide support using C, C++, and Python.
