Job summary

WGME, part of Sinclair Broadcast Group, is seeking a Director for our Newscast in Portland, ME. The ideal candidate will direct and TD newscasts, create graphics, and collaborate across departments to ensure clean, tight broadcasts. Experience with iNews and Ross Overdrive is a plus.

You will supervise production crews, maintain the studio and control room, and train staff on cameras, audio, graphics, and related gear. Proficiency with Photoshop and Deko is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience Directing and TDing newscasts.
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment.
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure.
• Typing and good spelling skills.
• Ability to read and write; college degree preferred.

• Create graphics daily using Photoshop and Deko
• Train production crew in cameras, audio, graphics, etc.
• Supervise production crew on a daily basis
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements

• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $19.48 to $22.12. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
