Job summary

WSET is seeking a Newscast Director to lead production for assigned newscasts and special productions. The role includes direct/TD duties, studio and control room oversight, and robotic camera operation, with the teleprompter managed by the incumbent.

The position follows a morning schedule, 4am–1pm, with flexibility for holidays, nights, and weekend fill-ins. The ideal candidate will have experience directing newscasts, knowledge of production standards, and the ability to guide crew under

• Maintain studio and control room
• Studio floor manager
• Operation of robotic cameras
• Teleprompter operator
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
• This is a morning shift, Monday through Friday 4am - 1pm. But you must also be willing to work holidays, nights, and weekends as needed for fill in

Requirements

• Experience directing newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position equipment of up to 40 pounds

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.79 to $18.89 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
